Bramblewood Pittsburgh Wedding | Brittany & Richie

I had the pleasure of getting to know Richie & Brittany over the last few months through a mutual friend (whose wedding I also photographed last year) and let me tell you - this wedding was one to remember! Bramblewood at Simmons Hickory Farm is a gorgeous family owned farm to table barn wedding venue right outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, set on 160 beautiful acres.

One thing that truly was evident throughout the day was Brittany & Richie’s laid back attitude surrounding their wedding day, which I love to see with my couples. While their wedding was certainly beautiful, I could tell during numerous moments of the day that they were just happy to be in the moment, surrounded by their closest family and friends and creating memories of a lifetime.

As a photographer it’s always my goal to try to create the perfect balance between documenting EVERYTHING and making sure I give couples enough space to let them be free to enjoy the day. At one point during Brittany & Richie’s reception, I simply walked away and watched from a distance as Brittany and Richie stood in the corner of the barn together and watched their guests. I had to try to resist the urge to try to capture that moment. But I knew that what I would’ve captured probably wouldn’t have been able to accurately portray what was happening at that time, and I know there is a fine line between capturing just enough to tell the story and letting a couple have the freedom to capture moments themselves as well.

Brittany & Richie, thank you SO much for allowing me to be there for you last weekend and I hope this little glimpse into your day brings back ALL the joy!

Julie & Matt | Romantic St Patrick's Day Lancaster Farm Wedding

Julie & Matt's romantic Lancaster farm wedding at the Country Barn was filled with lots of love by so many friends and family members who gathered to support and celebrate Julie & Matt. Every little detail was thought out to ensure a perfect time for their guests in a comfortable atmosphere.  Low key (but delicious) comfort food choices and lots of beautiful desserts are two things that always make for a great time at a wedding.  What a way to kick off my 2018 wedding season - with clients like this my job is pretty great!

The Feiler wedding started off at the beautiful downtown Lancaster Cork Factory hotel, where Julie & her girls got to spend time relaxing in charming rooms with exposed brick before slipping into the most gorgeous dress!  I absolutely loved the lace detailing on Julie's gown and she couldn't have picked a more perfect dress for her St. Patrick's Day wedding!

The green details in everything from the invitation suite and bridesmaid dresses to the florals, tied in the romantic vibe and subtle St Patrick's Day theme throughout the day.

Lot's of little accents and wood burned details from Twelve Twenty-Nine Supply Co infused throughout the day made for a super personal collection of details that tied in the barn venue perfectly!  Check out their Wedding Services here for more information on how you can get gorgeous custom wedding hangers and more for your big day!

Julie's bridesmaids gifted her with a scrapbook full of memories from each prior to heading to the venue.  I LOVED this idea!

Julie brought a piece of her father with her on her wedding day in the form of a cylinder containing some of his ashes tied into her bouquet.  I love this memorial option for brides who may not have a loved one physically present with them on the wedding day.

Julie chose to do a 'first look' with her brothers upon arriving at The Country Barn wedding venue in Lancaster before walking down the aisle... there may or may not have been a few tears.  A first look doesn't necessarily have to be with your groom, but can also be really special with family members as well!  I highly encourage brides to consider a first look of some sort for your big day!

Signature drink choices like Irish Sangria kept with the St Patty's Day theme!

The simple white & green lanterns and florals were absolutely stunning against the backdrop of the Country Barn - such a romantic statement against the rustic barn walls.  And can we talk about that arbor?  Custom made by James, it was the picture of perfection when paired with the magic touch of The Details Matter Florists.

A late night French fry bar, lots of dancing, and a sparkler exit under the stars to end the night wrapped up a perfect romantic Lancaster farm wedding for Julie & Matt!  Congratulations to the Feilers!

The Barn at Hidden Acres Wedding Bloomsburg, PA | Ashleigh + Michael

Nothing makes me happier than seeing a family come together through a wedding.  And that is exactly what happened during Ashleigh + Michael's Bloomsburg, PA wedding at The Barn at Hidden Acres.  Yes, the colors were gorgeous, the florals were to die for, the games were fun, and the dancing was epic.  For me, however, just watching the bond between Ashleigh and Michael unfold throughout the day and the joy of their daughter made the entire day one of the most precious weddings for me to have the opportunity to document. My favorite thing about Ashleigh and Michael is how obvious it is that Michael just adores Ashleigh.  The best part is that she might not even know how much, but it's plain to see in these images how much joy there is amongst this pair.  After hearing Ashleigh's father's toast, and reading over their questionnaire, I learned that Michael pursued Ashleigh for quite some time while the pair coached Lewisburg Area High School Girls Track and Field together.  It is rumored that Michael even ironed her clothes every night for two weeks, with Ashleigh still somewhat oblivious to the fact that Michael had feelings for her.  Michael, some words of advice... don't ever stop trying to win her heart!

Fast forward one year... and here they are, at their gorgeous Vintage Romantic wedding.  The couple chose to focus on celebrating not only the love they have for each other, but their love for their family and friends as well.  The outdoor ceremony was followed by a fun barn reception complete with lawn games and tons of dancing.  Each table featured a floral centerpiece with a combination of Cream spider mums, peach garden roses, Ivory Waxflower, Ivory Spray Roses, and minimal greens consisting of Dusty Miller and Italian Ruscus.  A favorite love quote chosen by the bride and groom on champagne stock and lace table coverings completed the romantic look.   After dinner there was a late night snack that was personalized for the bride and groom. It consisted of soft pretzels and they called them Wetzel’s pretzels (for the bride) and Philly cheesesteaks (for the groom, because he grew up outside of Philadelphia, cheesesteak capitol).

Congratulations Ashleigh, Michael (and Baylee)!  I wish you the best of luck in the future.  Your wedding was simply beautiful.
