I do not have enough words to put together a blog post on how perfect Alli & Ian's Barn at Hidden Acres Bloomsburg wedding was. From the start of the day, I knew this would be one of my favorite weddings of the season, not because of how beautiful each and every detail was (and it was beautiful), but because of how relaxed I felt from the second I pulled up to the barn. I was able to grab a few drone shots of the area when I arrived a few minutes early, and then went over to the farmhouse to greet Allison. Everyone was calm, her sisters were helping with hair and makeup, and there was a palpable sense of happiness and an ease about everyone there that was comforting. Nothing was fussy or overdone, but it was all perfection. The ceremony site was decorated simply with some old doors, barrels and ferns, which was the perfect way to accent the rolling hills of the area and lead people to their seats on the hill. The reception took place in the barn itself with farm style tables that were tastefully decorated to suit the area with simple mason jars filled with baby's breath on burlap runners with some greenery. It was the perfect rustic tablescape that still looked elegant, which fit in perfectly at the Barn at Hidden Acres Bloomsburg.
The best part of the day? I got to pull Alli and Ian out for portraits THREE TIMES. I know that sounds excessive, but I pulled them out in short little increments three times through out the day, and I loved that they were able to enjoy a their day so easily this way. The first time we shot a few portraits of them was after the ceremony and after family portraits and wedding party portraits were complete. The lighting wasn't perfect, but it was slightly overcast at that point so I wanted to work with it. After a few minutes I wanted to let them enjoy a bit of cocktail hour because I knew we had some time planned later in the timeline for more portraits. After Alli & Ian had enjoyed their dinner, there was a little bit of a lull in the action, which is typical while all of the guests have an opportunity to eat. I was able to pull them out for a few more portraits at this time, and we walked around the property at the barn to utilize the gorgeous mountain scenery and shoot some film. Finally, at golden hour I pulled them out for a few minutes since the sun started to give me some gorgeous golden light to work with. I LOVED how relaxed this timeline was to allow for these little pockets of time. It was so wonderful, yet it didn't feel like they were being taken away from their guests in any way. They still had the opportunity to dance, laugh and share an awesome time with their family and friends.
Congratulations Alli & Ian! We hope you enjoy these images for many years to come.
